Factorise is a pre-seed stage AI Fintech startup.
We are an innovative fintech startup on a mission to democratize investment knowledge and tools through our AI-powered chatbot, learning platform, and interactive community. We blend novel technology with deep industry insights to empower investors of all levels. Our mission is to equip retail investors and investment learners with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of the financial world. One of our learning platform features is leveraging insights from various fields such as physics, biology, sociology, and more. This means enabling the user to acces mental models and knowledge across disciplines with the purpose of upgrading investment strategies, learning and action. Another aspect of the learning platform is facilitating that Generation Z and Generation Alpha engage with the financial ecostem through gamified and curated, dynamic and engaging education and learning content. We aim for synergy between our chatbot, learning & community features and dimensions.
Our Progress
We have achieved significant milestones, including our chatbot is live for internal test use and demo investor purpose both locally through Docker and in a cloud solution. We’ve built an AWS cloud setup with the following components: Backend: NestJS microservices on AWS Fargate. Frontend: Next.js on AWS Amplify. Message Broker: RabbitMQ on Amazon MQ. Database: MongoDB. API Gateway: AWS API Gateway. Our ML/AI is integrated both in the cloud and locally same as our RAG system. We’ve enriched our chatbot capabilities and carried out comprehensive API development. Our product designs are complete for some aspects and being further developed on other features, and we are conducting innovative R&D to transform investment knowledge. We’ve engaged in extensive user research, userbility testing, competitor analysis, product positioning and built a strong and motivated team, and established early industry partnerships.
We have a demand driven approach to pre-Product-Market-Fit (pre-PMF) phase. We have investor meetings scheduled and are currently updating business and project management documentation in addition to integration of core product features.
The Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with the founder and team to manage and execute the technical aspects of our product development. You will play an important part in overseeing the development of our core products, ensuring that our technology stack is robust, scalable, and aligned with our business objectives.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about building innovative products in the fintech space and is eager to take on significant technical responsibilities. While this role initially offers equity, it has the potential to evolve into a more senior position with a competitive salary upon funding.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong expertise in full-stack development and cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, cloud services (AWS), microservices architecture, and API development. Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and data integration techniques is a plus.
• Knowledge or experience in Multi-Platform Development: Design, develop, and maintain our platform across multiple devices, ensuring seamless user experiences on mobile (iOS and Android) and desktop/laptop (browser-based) environments. This includes optimizing the interface for various screen sizes and resolutions, from large desktop monitors to small mobile screens.
• Product Execution: Experience in translating business needs into technical requirements and delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Communication: Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Startup Mentality: A proactive and self-motivated individual who can adapt to the fast-paced environment of a startup and contribute to multiple areas as needed

• Technology Implementation: Work on the development and maintenance of our AI-powered chatbot, learning platform, and community - ensuring that all technical components function smoothly and efficiently.
• Team Coordination: Collaborate with remote engineering and designer resources, ensuring that projects are completed on time and meet our quality standards.
• Project management & roadmap. Spar with founder on project management tools, platforms and deliverables
• Product Execution: Translate business requirements into technical tasks and work alongside the founder to implement these within the team.
• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Maintain and optimize our AWS cloud setup, including backend (NestJS microservices), frontend (Next.js), message broker (RabbitMQ), and database (MongoDB). And the new stuff we will develop and implement
• AI & ML Integration: Collaborate with AI/ML specialists to implement machine learning models that enhance the performance of our chatbot and learning platform.
• Research and Development: Participate in R&D activities to explore new technologies and methods that could improve our product offerings and user experience.
• Technical Communication: Support the founder in technical discussions with investors, partners, and other stakeholders, helping to communicate our technology strategy and progress.
