Job Description
Overview of role:
We are looking for an accomplished sales and business strategy professional to join our dynamic, diverse SSGA Middle East & Africa (MEA) and Official Institutions team. Based in our Dubai office, you will play a critical role in providing management support and contributing to our ongoing planning and strategy execution efforts.
You will need to collaborate with colleagues in investments, research, marketing and product development. The role requires energy, flexibility, curiosity and excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
This role will include strategic, project and management support responsibilities across the business. The role will provide an opportunity to work across the organization to help drive results, support strategic initiatives, improve processes, foster collaboration and alignment, and achieve more efficient sales and business performance.
The role reports directly to the Head of MEA and Official Institutions.
Responsibilities :
In addition to various ad-hoc strategic execution duties, the candidate will focus on three critical areas:

Business Management

  • Spearhead sales activity planning in partnership with sales and client relationship teams
  • Assume ownership for regional PR planning
  • Oversee and help improve local MIS reporting and management dashboards
  • Organize annual sales and management offsite
  • Actively contribute to regional event planning and coordination in partnership with Corporate Events/Marketing and client facing teams

Management Support

  • Prepare all required Board and Committee presentations for senior management review
  • Prepare Quarterly Business Results presentations
  • Act as (voting) proxy to head of MEA and Official Institutions in certain committee meetings when required
  • Support senior management in maintaining engagement with key external stakeholders (index providers, stock exchanges, trade associations, etc.)
  • Keep abreast of changes in regional laws and regulations and contribute to impact assessment initiatives

Growth Strategy

  • Help identify and map out new potential growth areas for the business and spearhead associated projects and business cases – this includes developments into new segments, new geographies and new product lines
  • Work on sales acceleration initiatives in partnership with the sales and marketing teams
  • Represent the region in firmwide projects and initiatives
  • Contribute to ad hoc initiatives involving Official Institutions clients across multiple jurisdictions

What we would love you to be:

  • Academic background in finance, economics, business or a related field
  • CFA/CAIA charter holder/ candidate or equivalent
  • Prior experience in ETF sales, capital markets or strategy
  • Minimum 3 years experience in client facing or business strategy roles with top tier international financial services firm
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good problem solver and trouble-shooter, with the ability to identify and analyze issues with the creativity and energy to solve them
